Reasons to Continue Blogging And Hating Hugo Schwyzer

friendlyangryfeminist:

He is a rapist. And when men “accidentally” rape women he says that the survivor is partly to blame for not making it clear enough when she wasn’t consenting.

He tried to murder his ex-girlfriend.

He thinks it’s dangerous to be a feminist all the time, comparing it to being in a cold body of water.

He’s a racist

He fetishizes lesbians.

As for my writing and speaking, I will for now continue to do both. The editors at Jezebel, well aware of this controversy, have asked me to continue to write for the site. I am pleased to do so. I will continue to explore writing opportunities outside of explicitly feminist spaces, recognizing that my presence in those spaces is controversial, divisive, and unhelpful. I will continue to explore speaking opportunities as well, but will be adapting my lectures so that I am focusing primarily on issues around men and masculinity.

This was just posted you know where.

Of course Jezebel wants this guy on board. Nothing ramps up the page views like a good ol controversy, eh? Women, actual women, you know, the supposed target demographics of Jezebel, be damned.

Oh and there is more at the link about “the future”.

Fucking. Jezebel.

redlightpolitics:

A feminism coated in a permanent “it takes two to tango” rhetoric/ apologia is not feminism. It’s called “victim blaming” and I thought we stood against that as a matter of principle.

Reading about Hugo Schwyzer gives me a sour stomach. He makes me physically ill.
